I’m a designer who keeps finding new ways to make things.

My name is Toniloba Jolayemi, though most people call me Tonnie. I’m a product designer drawn to thoughtful digital products, complex systems, interaction, and the increasingly blurry line between designing and building.

I’ve led and owned design across multiple products and platforms, from AI-powered experiences and admin tools to websites, mobile apps, internal systems, and broader product creative direction.

Much of that work has meant operating as the sole designer, moving between product thinking, research, UX, visual direction, and development collaboration to take ideas from early exploration to what eventually ships.

I’ve always believed there’s very little you can’t learn when you care enough to keep trying.

When something genuinely interests me, I find it hard to leave alone. I research it, test it, fail at it, try again, and keep going until I can do something meaningful with it. I often research things far beyond what the task requires too, I studied History & International Studies, so it’s a hard habit to break.

That’s how I learned to bake, how I explored dance and illustration, how I started designing, and how I now build products with AI.

Ideas I turned into working products.

These started as ideas I wanted to use myself. I built them with the help of AI, and kept improving them until they became real products I could share.

Before Claude, there was Webflow.

Before Claude, Webflow was where I first learned to build what I designed. I made websites, experimented with interactions, and even shipped an entire portfolio there.

I spent a lot of time studying sites that felt expressive and unexpected, curious about what digital experiences could feel like beyond standard layouts. It gave me my first real taste of building; Claude has taken that much further.

A product-minded way in.

Three principles I keep coming back to, whatever I’m making.

01

Learn before designing

I like to understand the product before I touch the interface, reading the brief, asking questions, researching the market, and studying what the business is really trying to achieve.

02

Visualise the experience

I often imagine the product before I design it, how someone moves across it, where they hesitate, where trust might break. Sometimes I can see the flaws before I open Figma.

03

Care beyond the screen

Once I start on a product, I care about it as if it were partly mine, whether the idea is good, whether people will trust it, whether it deserves to exist in the form we’re making.

The things that shaped how I make.

Everything above explains how I work. Everything below explains what shaped me into the kind of designer and builder I am today.
